I'm here in Cleveland, Ohio for my Secrets to Success Seminar with Jeff Jochum and Skip Cohen. I'm so excited to share with all of the photographers here some of the things that have helped my business tremendously. I ran into a photographer named Randy Walker (can't find his website) on my layover in Phoenix yesterday. I was about ready to board the plane when I felt a tap on the shoulder and someone saying "I thought I recognized you!" It was the strangest feeling and I think my face turned red because he caught me off-guard. "I found out the other day you were speaking in Cleveland so I decided to come out and see you!" he said. It was so cool to know that Randy cared enough that he would spend 10 hours (round trip) on a plane to come listen to me speak for just over an hour!

People are starting to tell me more and more that my name is bigger than I think it is. All I know is that God is much bigger than we all think and He has the power to take us places in order to bring the gospel to as many unbelievers as possible. I am not important, nor is my brand or career, other than to bring glory to God.

I use to think that this business was really just a training ground for some future ministry that God had planned for me. All of the experience I've been getting with starting and running a business, public speaking, business management, taking care of clients, and learning to trust Him when I'm out of my comfort zone has turned into more than just training. It's turned into a platform that I think God is starting to use. It's so amazing to see what He's doing!

Wish me luck on stage tonight! I hope I can be a light to some who are lost in this dark world.

Great! You can come help me move out of my apartment in Canton, Ohio. LOL Dude you are only 45 minutes from me and Gary right now! That is crazy! Wish you could come down or we could come up to hang out.

We fly to LA on Sunday so maybe we can come down and check out your place and Becker's.

Amen, Brother! You're a witness to those who don't know the Lord and an encouragement to those of us who do. Your ministry is way beyond you - but you're still the man.

You so freakishly ROCK!!!!!!

I LOVE how unbelievably bold your becoming with your faith. I love it.

Right now I am picturing you in that little room after you spent wayyyyyy too long editing your pix (you needed my workflow :) but I'm picturing the tears that you shared as you spoke about the sticker on the guard rail that you see most every day on the way to your studio. You said it stood for All Is Vain, and then said "I don't want to live my life in vain!"

Your an inspiration to us all to not live in vain! Sometimes I'm afraid of success cause "what if I think too much of myself or others don't like my success." You blow those thoughts out of the water!

I hope I can succeed even more and give God all the glory just like you.

For real, I'm not butt kissing. I love your boldness. I'm only two hours from Cleveland. Too bad we couldn't connect!

You don't realize it, but you DO have a ministry already! God is using you in such glorious ways. It is so obvious that you are a Humble Servant of His.

You said something at the seminar last night that we should all hear. "If we all just took the time to read our Bibles, we would learn how to run our businesses better." So True.

Thank you Mike.

The one thing I noticed about you Mike, was how humble you were about your success and how excited you were to talk about your faith. As a newer photographer, I often dream about how awesome it would be to have the success you have achieved (I'm sure everyone of you reading this have dreamed about the same thing). I wonder what the difference is between a Mike Colón and a Lee Ziegler? I wonder how much faster I could achieve my dreams if I were to completely trust God in all aspects of my photography? Sure, Mike's talent is amazing but it's more than just talent. It's integrity and an unselfish man's willingness to share his talent and faith. So Mike, I thank you... for restoring my faith and allowing me to see through the same lens that you do.

Hello Mike,

This is my first time here on your blog. Every time I get a chance to read about what's going on in your life I am encouraged and blessed. And each time I doubt what God is doing in my life, I come across your site and there is always something there to encourage me.

Three yrs ago I stepped out in faith and left my job w/ no idea on what I was going to do, ( I have a wife and two children) and as time went on the Lord led me through with the desire of my heart along w/ my wife who was a graphic designer into photography. I was torn at first because I thought I was going to be in ministry and then I started to see a little bit that there is a ministry here in what my wife and I are doing. It's incredible.

I just read what God is doing in your ministry/business, {really His business} and it blessed me so much that I felt so strong to post a message - and it gave me confirmation of what I've beem asking the Lord. I want to be resspectful and not take up the whole page but there is sso much more.

The Lord is not just using you for the lost but also for the saved. Thank you for all that you give and pour out.
May the Lord richly bless you and your family.

Thanks for your boldness,

Eddie

Mike, thank you for not being ashamed! Thank you for always standing in faith and proclaiming your love for Christ and spreading the good news! When I think of Mike Colon the first thing that comes to mind is Christian, secondly... loving husband and father... coming in third would have to be awesome photographer! This scripture comes to mind when I think about guys like you....

Luke 6:38 (New Life Version)

38 "Give, and it will be given to you. You will have more than enough. It can be pushed down and shaken together and it will still run over as it is given to you. The way you give to others is the way you will receive in return."

I think this verse epitimizes you. You have given yourself to God, your family, and others and have received wonderful blessings in return.

I pray that God will continue to bless, keep and prosper you and yours!!

Thanks you,

Christy
