When widgets first became available a while back it was like an answer to prayer. I use them all day every day for everything. Here are some things I use my widgets for: making sure I'm making my international calls during business hours, tracking flights, checking the weather for shoots, mapping directions for driving time, adding up what it might cost to buy that new gadget, checking my spelling, translating languages, and checking for better (or superior, finer, more suitable, advantageous, preferable) words to use on my blog :)One thing I've wished I could change was the feature in my address book widget that allowed me to click the address to map directions. It defaults to Mapquest and I wanted to use GoogleMaps instead. So I did what any responsible American would do... I googled the question and found the solution!
The solution took about 5 minutes to do and it was very straightforward. Here's the link to the instructions. Don't let the techy sounding steps scare you away... just do it :)

Wow - you've got a lot of clocks! Good idea!
You gotta get a Transmit widget to upload stuff...makes it so easy to FTP!
Oh you've got all the helpful widgets Mike! I need to use them more. One I really like though is the iTunes lyrics widget - shows you the lyrics for whatever is playing on iTunes at the time.
hey mike...thanks for the updates and directions...I just got my mac and I love it. i was a little scared reading the post that all the storage you bought was what the space shuttle flew to the moon with...kind of funny, maybe someday you will post a pic from the moon :) blessings.
Colon is already so far higher than the moon he can hardly see it with his 200 f/2.0 :)
Man you got that widget thing happening! I set mine up last night and it already helped with planning a shoot for this AM! Thanks so much for the tip! See you in Cleveland next week.
Yeah, I think DJ's right...Mike SO can't see the moon from how high he is ;)
"and checking for better (or superior, finer, more suitable, advantageous, preferable) words to use on my blog" Just wanted to let you know this cracked me up! :)
That's way cool. Dumb question: How do you get more clocks on your dashboard than the one that comes on it?

you just need to press F12, click the little "x" in the corner, watch all hem widgets come rolling out.. click the cloc, and another pops on the desktop. Click the "i" to flip it round, choose continent/region, then city... and you are sweet....
Duh! Got it. Thanks much!
