Mike Colon + Apple in The OC This Saturday Sept. 29th 9:30am!
I'm stoked to present for Apple here in my own stomping grounds at the Orange County Fairgrounds at the Samy's Camera Professional Photography Expo this Saturday Sept. 29th, 9:30am to 12:30pm. I will be showing some of my latest images and going through my super fast Aperture workflow. I have been using Aperture for past several months on all of my shoots and I'm loving it! If you live in the area or are in town, stop by and say hi!

unclemike if not too familiar I will be in the area and hope to get there to here you on Aperture which I have been pounding also last few months.

Unclemike the Chanel fashion show was Awesome only 40 or 50 photographers not as bad as the NY fashion show Miami missed you bro...

Mike, thanks so much for holding the lecture! I learned a great deal and absolutely loved your shots. The little fro girl's images are just ingrained in my head. She's so cute! Hope you'll still be having teaching opportunities in the near future (because I'd love to be there!).

Wow, I saw that Samy's thing and thought of going, wondering what or who would be there to make it worth my while, and I thought "hmm, what if Mike Colon were there, to showcase the D3 or something? Nahhh, Mike's way to busy for a Samy's event..."
Dang! I shouldn't have gone hiking after all, I guess...
I'm still addicted to Bridge CS3 though. I really did give Lightroom AND Apeture a try but they just didn't work well for my mind and my processing habits... Maybe I'll have to sit down with Apeture again and give it another go...

I really enjoyed your lecture at the OC Fairgrounds on Saturday. I connected with your philosophy of capturing the perfect moment instead of obsessing over perfect technique. I also agree with your belief that natural light, or at least natural-looking light, is almost always better than flash.
As someone who is just starting in the professional field of photography, it's inspiring to find a top-notch professional with the same ideas.

I was the kid with the goofy moustache and striped shirt who spoke real briefly with you after your talk. I was totally encouraged, actually not as much by the info you gave, more so by your humble attitude. You are definitely talented (that goes w/o saying), keep up the good work!
