January 2008 Workshop Seats Now Available!!

Hey guys! I just finalized plans for "The Colón Experience VIII" this coming January 21-24, 2008. We've had such great reviews on the workshop but we've still found ways to improve it! I've reorganized the schedule to maximize the learning experience. I've also added, by popular demand, a night shoot where I'll be demonstrating the use of off camera speedlights and hand-held video light. It's going to be a great experience with updated lectures, my new super fast workflow, and demos of the latest camera equipment including the all new D3! It's a busy year for me and I don't know if I'll be able to do more than one of these in 2008 so don't miss it! I'm posting here on my blog first before I send out the email blast to about 5,000 photographers this week so don't wait.

For those photographers out there considering taking up a workshop for 2008, there is nothing to think about!!! This is it. Start your year with incredible knowledge, meet new friends, but most important I have traveled around the world with Mike Colon. He is a machine, trust me there has never been a question that he has not answered. If anybody has a question on camera equipment, composition, exposure, or lighting… I can go on and on. Walk in thin, go out fat with major knowledge and confidence, which is priceless.

I echo Ray's comments 100 Percent! Even if you have heard Mike speak in the past or have his DVD's, I can't recommend his workshop enough. You walk out after 4 days with invaluable information as to how Mike approaches the business, his thoughts on marketing and meeting with clients, insight into how he approaches a wedding, the lighting he looks for, etc. I could go on and on, but will put it bluntly that you leave with a new level of confidence. Plus, you meet some great new people and form great relationships. However, what impressed me most was Mike as a person. He made sure to take time out to give everyone some individual attention and make sure they were grasping everything. I can truly say that his days stretched well beyond the stated schedule. I went in there looking at Mike as a teacher and left thinking of him as a mentor and a friend. If you are sitting on the fence, jump off and start the new year on a great note!

I'm just bummed I couldn't come hang out for a few days.

I second Ray on this. It's a must. I know the registration fee is a bit high, but if this is your livelihood, then it is totally worth it. Plus you will gain far more than what you invested!

This is a no brainer for any aspiring photographer or even an established photographer. This is your opportunity to spend a week with Mike and ask away anything from exposure to marketing to finding the right balance between work and a personal life. Mike will literally welcome you into his home. He not only completely blew me away but also made me rethink everything I do, not only my business but my personal life. He is much more than a photographer he is blessed with a level of humanity that is rarely seen. To say I was blown away by the "experience" would not even come close to doing it justice.

Another incredible benefit is the amazing group of photographers Mike is able to bring together for one incredible week. You will all walk in as strangers and leave as friends. I regularly communicate with several of the photographers I meet during Mike's workshop. And! Lets not forget the opportunity to experience that hot spanking new D3!

I would love to go do it all over again.
